► Solution: There are a few problems that could cause this. If the range vent hood light and fan do not work check to see if there is power at the unit at all – if there is a plug then see if the hood is plugged in, if there is no plug then check if the breaker is out and turn it on. Sometimes, the hood fan and light are not working because the switch might be defective and will need to be replaced.

► Solution: If the motor in the hood is too noisy it will probably have to be replaced. You may order the motor from the manufacturer and replace it. Hood motors are generally not serviceable and do not require any maintenance or lubrication once they leave the factory, hence they need to be replaced.

► Solution:  Over a period of time, it is completely normal that filters get clogged with grease and dust. How fast they get clogged really depends how often you cook and how often you use it. It is recommended that these filters be replaced about once a year or washed a couple of times a year. However, if the hood is used heavily on a daily basis then the filters might need to be replaced every few months. They are simple to replace – look for a button to open the hanging doors so that you can slide out and then slide in new filters.
