Oven not heating up? Many people confuse ovens and stoves. The oven is a chamber or enclosed compartment which you access by using the large door in front and is most often used for baking or roasting. The stove has burners on the surface (usually between 4 to 6) and is used for things like frying and sauteing and can be electric or gas.

Problem: Loose or Burnt Wire Connection

► Solution: If your unit won’t heat, there might be a burnt wire supplying power to the bake element. Sometimes the wire supplying power to the element can get burnt right near the element itself. You should be able to visually find this.

Problem: Oven Light is Out (Light Not Working)

► Solution: If the light is out (not working), the entire light assembly may need to be replaced. Often the assembly components are not sold separately. Check to see if the oven light is out. Most often that is all it needs to be done. The light bulb can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter device or test it by replacing the lamp. Finally – it could be a light switch. Ovens come with the light switch – check that as well.
